Ivy's been singing parts of twinkle twinkle little star these days and I just had to comment on how cute it is! She'll start by saying 'winkle winkle ittle ar...up abub whirl so i...' then she gets excited and says 'yeay' and claps to herself...
The best part is when she wants me to take over the singing and she says 'winkle winkle mommy'
I'm getting to that stage now in my third trimester where none of my maternity clothes really fit well anymore. I know they say that you're supposed to buy your pre-pregnancy size and all will be hunky-dory. But seriously, they expect that if you buy a medium sized shirt when you're 4 months pregnant, that it's still going to fit when you're 8 or 9 months along? Why wouldn't they size them like this: Medium-1st trimester, Medium-2nd trimester, Medium-3rd trimester...with each one getting a little bigger in the belly. I just think with all the smart marketing people out there that this wouldn't still be an issue in 2008...
I had another doctor's appointment today and she mentioned that we could schedule this C-section on November 4th. When I started thinking about it, I realized that November 4th is election day. My other option was Halloween, and I really don't want to have her on Halloween...poor kid. I think 11/4/08 sounds like a good birthday, don't you?
Grasshoppers are in full swing this year and Ivy is definately enjoying them. She starts by saying 'HI!!' in her sweet voice, then she bends down to stare at them, then she might grab one and hold it. If it gets away from her she'll say "Hopper go?". Sometimes she'll step on it, and then bend over and say 'HI!' again in the sweet voice. I don't know how to tell her that the hopper isn't going to respond now that you've smashed him into a couple pieces.
Eric and I are now certified in Infant & Child CPR! We have wanted to do it since before Ivy was born, but just never got around to it. With all the news about kids drowning this year we thought there's no time like the present to get it done. We were the only ones there, out of maybe 14 people, that signed up for it willingly. Everyone else there had to take it for their job. So you can breath a little easier (no pun intended) if we're ever watching your children...
A little late in the season, but we got a swing set for Ivy and set that up this week. We decided on a metal set instead of the huge wooden ones with all the accessories. We thought it would be easier to move or get rid of when the time comes that it's not used anymore. Also, Eric wasn't especially fond of putting the wooden ones together, as he'd done in the past. This one probably only took 8 hours total to get everything done. Here are a few pictures of the finished product.
Well, I survived my 10 year reunion this weekend so I thought I would reminisce about it. I was actually really looking forward to seeing my old friends that I don't keep in contact with as much as I would like to. I wasn't disappointed as a lot of them showed up. Some moments were awkward, which was to be expected, but for the most part I had a lot of fun. With each person that I talked to, came another funny or stupid story from high school. You know, the kind of stories that you wrote in their yearbook about. "I'll never forget so and so's dad running after us in his whitie-tighties...keep in touch...stay sweet..."
One thing I was disappointed about was that I had hoped to hear those mid-to-late 90's songs that always bring back those high school memories, but I didn't. I had a dance routine like the one in Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion all planned out...guess I'll just save it for the 20 year reunion. I had also hoped to tell off my high school bully, but she wasn't there...that can wait too though...
Ivy was at grandma & grandpa's house
in Lincoln this week without mom and dad. We left her there last
weekend so we could paint her room and the new baby's room. We
also steamed cleaned the carpets and got some other unfinished
projects done. We missed her so much, but we were also so busy that
it made the week go by fast.
She got to go to the zoo in Lincoln, and out to the airport to look
at the planes (since she seems to be fascinated with them) and had
plenty of trips to the park with grandpa.
We found out today that Ivy is going to have a baby sister in November! They will be almost exactly 2 years apart so I think they'll be great friends...
I've finally started to feel better this month, so I'm enjoying this stage of pregnancy. Hopefully I'll get back into blogging again...I know there are so many of you that can't wait to hear what I have to say...ha
Eric, Ivy and I are expecting an addition to our family in early November this year! I haven't felt well since early March, which is why the blogging had come to a screeching halt. I hope to be better about keeping this site up to date with news about our baby bean...
